Luanda - Angolan Vice President of the Republic Esperança da Costa Friday visited Friday the sustainable community project in the locality of Camizungo, municipality of Icolo e Bengo.
Some 1.200 local residents benefit from the sustainable community project since 2018.
Also 30 children accommodated by the Casa do Amor orphanage, are among the beneficiaries of the projects, visited by the Vice President of Republic.
The project allowed the installation of social equipment that allow to provide services to the population.
At the end of the visit, the Vice President highlighted the project stating that it has several valences and can be used as a replica for other regions.
She also announced plans to introduce animal protein in the project to improve the food and nutritional diet of the community and direct greater support in learning to improve the teaching process in the region.
Esperança da Costa also invited the ministerial departments and local administrations to join this project.
The project started in 2018, an initiative of the NGO ATOS, aiming to develop actions to transform the environment into a "self-sustainable community", making it capable of placing its members as participants in the construction process.
The goal is also to make the community more participative, inclusive and aware of its growth process, needs and challenges.
In hervisit, Esperança da Costa interacted with the community, made up of over 800 inhabitants, to learn about their reality.
The village of Camizungo is located in Catete commune, Icolo and Bengo municipality, abou 44 kilometres from Luanda city.
