Luanda - The Vice-President of Angola, Esperança da Costa, on Wednesday received the head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Angola, Rosário Bento Pais, with whom she discussed ways to strengthen the strategic partnership, particularly in the areas of climate change and regional security.
Speaking at the end of the meeting, the diplomat said that she explained that in the environmental sector there are well advanced agreements, such as on the protected areas along the Lobito Corridor signed in February and valued at 45 million US dollars.
Rosário Bento Pais said that there are several projects underway in the country, in addition to those related to the Lobito Corridor signed with civil society organizations.
The EU official spoke of the need for awareness-raising among the population about the role of each citizen, or as a consumer, in the use of plastic, as well as the correct use of water.
As a result of the excellent bilateral relations between the Republic of Angola and the European Union, four new projects are underway in the areas of the blue economy, circular economy, civil society, justice and governance, along with support that has been provided for the formalization of the Angolan economy.JAM/VIC/ADR/DAN/AMP
