Luanda - The Vice-President of Angola, Esperança da Costa, on Friday spent time with children of the school 1135 located in the country’s capital, Luanda, as part of the government’s environmental education campaign "Know to Preserve".
Held at the Vice-president’s office's Support Bodies, the meeting that took place under the slogan "Training the environmentalists of the future now", was marked by a guided tour to some of the Vice-Presidency work areas.
During the visit, visitors had several moments with the Vice-President in her office and in the meeting room, as well as other activities, including the "painting corner".
The children also learned about various concepts related to Environmental Education, as well as taking part in games and a "family photo" with the Vice-President.
Since the beginning of her mandate, Esperança da Costa has been working with children and conveying to the new generations the need to raise the level of knowledge about preserving the environment, as a way of safeguarding the future of the planet.
The Day of the African Child is celebrated 15 days after World Children's Day (June 1), to draw attention to the reality of thousands of African children who are victims of violence, exploitation and abuse every day. FMA/ART/AMP
