Luanda - The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Américo Cuononoca, praised this Monday the presence in Angola of the largest floating bookstore in the world, considering that it brings with it a message of peace, joy and hope.
The presence of the bookstore ship in Luanda, with more than five thousand titles, is a joint initiative of the Angolan Evangelical Alliance (AEA), the Council of Christian Churches of Angola (CICA), Christian Forum and GBA Ships organization.
The parliamentarian, at the end of the visit to the "bookstore", said that it contributes to the spread of the Gospel, the well-being of the population and above all hope for a better future.
According to Américo Cuononoca, the “Logos Hope”, the name of the vessel, is in fact an element of utmost importance not only for the Christian church, but above all it is a ship that brings with it a message of peace, joy and hope as it works focusing on human beings.
“Angola is congratulated and should feel happy for being awarded with this particular visit, as in less than two days the ship has already received visits from more than 20 thousand visitors,” he said.
Américo Cuononoca hopes that more citizens will flock to the floating bookstore to enjoy what it can offer.
In turn, the ship's commander, Cristian Montaner, considered the visit by the members of the National Assembly a privilege, as they were warmly received by several entities.
He explained that the objective is to share knowledge with low-cost books, offer courses and promote conferences and help communities.
Books on Christian literature, medicine, science and other can be found in the floating bookstore that remains on Angolan soil until next Thursday.
