Huambo - The municipal secretary of UNITA in Huambo, Monteiro Eliseu, Friday reaffirmed, the commitment of his party to maintain peace and political-social stability in the country.
Speaking at a press conference on the latest events of social instability in the country and in the province in particular, he said the party was against such acts, as they compromise peace and national reconciliation.
He challenged accusations, which fell on his organisation, of being a possible promoter of the said social disorder, stating that Unita is committed to peace as an indispensable factor to promote development and progress in Angola.
In this regard, he advocated the strengthening of the dialogue between the institutions and society in general to strengthen the pillars of national reconciliation, solve the problems faced by the citizens and improve their well-being.
In his view, political intolerance should be fought, peaceful coexistence in difference guaranteed and democracy consolidated in order to renew the hopes of an increasingly prosperous Angola.
As for the province, he recommended greater openness in the participation of the 'living forces' of society in the region's development
