Lubango - The president of UNITA, Angola’s largest opposition party, Adalberto Costa Júnior, defended Wednesday in Lubango, southern province of Huíla, the need to improve the country's social conditions and economic stability, to avoid the departure (brain drain) of cadres, especially of young people.
The leader of the “black rooster” (UNITA's nickname) was speaking at a political event aimed at activists, as part of the deputies' days in the communities, having lamented the fact that “there are more and more Angolans emigrating”.
According to the politician, “large communities” of Angolans are known in Portugal, Brazil, South Africa, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, among other countries, made up “mostly of young people and very well-trained staff”, who could make their contribution to the country’s professional technical development.
He considered it urgent for the government to create policies that could lead Angola out of the crisis it finds itself in, because there are still problems with access to education, health, water and employment.
“I have nothing against foreigners, they can come and share knowledge, it is an added value, but it is not possible for a country to develop without its cadres and, fundamentally, without the strength of its youth”, he said.
The parliamentary group, made up of 90 deputies, will visit the 14 municipal and 48 communal headquarters, where for 7 days it will hold meetings with administrative, traditional and religious authorities, associations, unions, community leaders and other strata of society.
