Luanda - The UNITA (Largest opposition party) Parliamentary Group reaffirmed this Thursday, in Luanda, its commitment to defending democracy, freedom, dignity, social justice and prosperity of the Angolan people.

On the other hand, he welcomed the 18th of July, International Nelson Mandela Day, established by the UN General Assembly, as well as remembering that for "Madiba" the ideal was a democratic and free society, in which all people live together in harmony and equal opportunities.
He highlighted that Nelson Mandela's legacy is to teach that we are all human and all people are equal, highlighting that the contribution of the former South African president encompasses the ability to resolve conflicts, good racial relations, protection and promotion of human rights, reconciliation genuine national rights, gender equality, children's rights, among others.
Local Authorities
Liberty Chiaka said that, in his party's view, local authorities can and should be created as soon as possible, in all municipalities.
He recalled that the Bill of the UNITA Parliamentary Group establishes the designation, human substrate and territorial limits for each municipal authority and delimits, regarding to the State, the specific competences in the provision of public services to citizens.
"UNITA considers the effective institutionalization of local authorities to be a national emergency to address the serious social crisis that Angola is experiencing," he stated.
This Thursday, the National Assembly held a final global vote on proposed laws on Gaming Activity and Crimes of Vandalization of Public Goods and Services, which proposes a maximum sentence of 25 years. VIC/CF/DOJ
