Luanda - The Supreme Court resumes on Wednesday in Luanda, the trial of Angola's former ambassador to Ethiopia, Arcanjo do Nascimento, with the hearing of a new declarant.
According to the Supreme Court, the trial is scheduled to hear Azeb Miheretab Nse, owner of the company ALJ Construction.
Arcanjo do Nascimento is accused of embezzlement.
During the first session of the trial, in 2023, the Public Prosecutor's Office read out the indictment and said that the accused had received more than 21 million US dollars for the construction of three buildings to serve as a protocol residence, official residence and chancellery in Ethiopia.
The work, according to the Public Prosecutor's Office, was not completed due to the uncertain destination of the money, allegedly by the former Angolan diplomat. VIC/TED/AMP
