Luanda – The Supreme Court and the European Union will address on Monday, in Luanda, issues linked to the “support program for the judicial system and law reform” (with implementation in 2025).
According to a press release that Angop had access on Sunday, the working meeting between the management of the supreme court and the representation of the European Union in Angola also has as its agenda topics the “reform of justice and law”, “the impact of the pro-react program on the courts”, “The challenges of combating corruption”, “Money laundering and asset recovery, and the digitalization of the courts”.
The working meeting between the two bodies will be led by the president of the supreme court, Joel Leonardo, and the Ambassador of the European Union in Angola, Rosário Bento Pais, and it will also be attended by venerable advisor judges from the supreme court.
The court is the highest instance of the common jurisdiction of the Angolan judiciary. It is one of the four highest courts in the country, alongside the Constitutional Court, the Court of Accounts and the Supreme Military Court. FMA/PA/CF/DOJ
