Luanda – The minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, participates this Thursday (17) in Lusaka, Zambia, in the state funeral of the former leader of that country, Rupiah Banda, on behalf of the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço.
Rupiah Banda, 4th President of the Republic of Zambia, died Friday (11) of illness, aged 85.
The Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs in a note, that this Thursday (17), the Zambian Government will organize a state funeral, in Lusaka, with the presence of foreign heads of State and Government and other guests.
The document informs that on Friday, the former President will be buried in the Presidential Cemetery in Lusaka.
Rupiah Banda ruled Zambia from 2008 to 2011, replacing Levy Mwanawasa.
