Luanda – Angolan Foreign Affairs minister, Téte António, this Friday in Beijing, China, fulfilled a hectic political and diplomatic agenda, where he represented the Head of State, João Lourenço, in the China-Frica Cooperation Forum.
In this ambit, the Foreign minister held separate meetings with heads of State and Government, with a view to strengthening the bilateral and multilateral cooperation relations.
In Beijing, Téte António met with the President of the Comorors, Azali Assoumani. The talks centred around aspects of the exisiting friendship and solidarity relations between Angola and the Comoros Island.
Angola and Comoros have excellent cooperation relations. President Azali Assoumani, who often visits Angola, has manifested his recognition of the role of the Angolan state and president, highlighting João Lourenço’s efforts focused on the pacification and reconciliation of the African continent.
Next, Téte António met with the Malawi President, Lazarus McCarthy Chakwere, with whom he discussed aspects related to the potential of Angola to attract regional investments that can also help boost the relations between both countries.
Malawi is interested in deepening cooperation relations with Angola, through the identification of new areas, such as the Lobito Corridor, aiming for better interconnection of the southern African region.
Téte António also had a meeting with the Mozambican Head of State, Filipe Nyusi, with whom he analysed issues related to the bilateral cooperation.
Still in the sidelines of the Beijing Summit, the Angolan Foreign minister also had a separate meeting with the Prime Minister of São Tomé & Príncipe, Patrice Trovoada.
In the meeting, the two officials underscored the need to strengthen the friendship ties, as well as the solidarity and bilateral cooperation relations.
The diplomatic agenda of the Angolan minister included meetings with the Vice President of Uganda, Jessica Rose Epel Alupo, the President of Sudan’s Military Council of Transition, General Abdel Fattah Al- Burhan.
Téte António had a courtesy meeting with the United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, and also with the African Union Commission Head, Moussa Faki Mahamat. ART/jmc
