Luanda - Angola is a 'perfect space' to reflect on the culture of peace in Africa, for all that it has done for the pacification of the continent, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, said on Wednesday in Luanda.
Speaking to ANGOP, in the framework of the 3rd Biennale of Luanda, he pointed out that, as a champion of peace, by indication of the African Union, the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, has been an important actor for the stabilization of the continent.
He stressed that the culture of peace must be constantly addressed through in-depth and pedagogical work, so that it can be implemented on a daily basis.
“The most solid uniting trait that unites nations is culture”, Téte António said, defending the need for a perfect marriage for the search for stability allied to the peace agenda of the United Nations, the African Union and Angola.
According to the minister, the culture of prevention must be rooted in the continent because war 'is born in the mentality of the people' and, for this purpose, it is necessary to have more meetings such as the Biennale of Luanda.
For his part, the Minister of Agriculture, António Francisco de Assis, considered the promotion of the Pan-African Forum for the Culture of Peace – Biennale of Luanda, a unique moment for the country, as it brings together several personalities to interact on peace and education as the main elements for the development of the continent.
In this context, he said that Angolans are to be congratulated for the initiative, as it is another opportunity for Africans to reflect on the need to march together towards economic and social development.
For the Ambassador of the United States of America in Angola, Tulinabo Mushingi, the country has an important role in the pacification of the continent and this Biennial is a reflection of this commitment that everyone has witnessed.
The 3rd edition of the Pan-African Forum for the Culture of Peace and Non-Violence - Biennale of Luanda runs until the 24th of this month, under the motto: “Education, Culture of Peace and African Citizenship as Tools for the Development of the Continent”. ART/DOJ
