Luanda - The delivery of the candidacies of political parties and coalition of parties running in the general elections of 24 August, to the Constitutional Court (CC), will be made by scheduling, to confer greater dignity, comfort and convenience to those involved.
According to the Director of the Constitutional Court's Political Parties Office, Mauro Alexandre Quitumbo, a Digital Platform for Scheduling was created for this reason.
Mr. Quitumbo explained that the recipients have the possibility of choosing the day and time they want to deliver the candidacy processes, avoiding constraints such as having more than one political formation at the same time. For this, he said, the platform's credentials were given beforehand to the party representatives, who will be able to use them in an easier way.
In this sense, without revealing the name of the political party, he made it known that the first appointment has already been made for next Wednesday (8).
He also said that this innovation will give dynamism to the process of reception, justification and validation of the candidates.
The period for presentation of applications, which began today, will run until June 25.
The second phase (10 days after the first) will be reserved for correcting any irregularities or shortcomings in the files submitted.
Thirteen political parties (eight parties and one coalition of political parties) are eligible to run in the general elections on 24 August.
The Constitutional Court has, among other competencies, the task of verifying and validating the candidacies for the elections.
