Luanda - The sixth day of the electoral campaign throughout the country was marked by mass events, door-to-door awareness raising and the usual airtime on national radio and public television stations.
The leaders of the seven political parties and a coalition of parties explained to voters why they should vote for their respective parties.
PHA
The Humanist Party of Angola (PHA), which inaugurated Friday in Cuando Cubango, its local headquarters, defended the need for more jobs for young people, since the country is rich in diverse resources.
According to the party’s president Florbela Malaquias, the PHA’s top priority, if it wins the elections, would be to provide food for all and bet on the promotion of agricultural activity through assistance to farmers.
P-NJANGO
The Nationalist Party for Justice in Angola (P-NJANGO) pledged to bet on pedagogical teaching, especially in social sciences and humanities fields.
According to the president of the party Eduardo Chingunji, if he wins the general elections, his party will resize and significantly change the curricular processes to adapt to the reality of the country.
UNITA
UNITA said it intends to invest in the creation of technical and professional schools, if it becomes the government in the next five years.
The intention was expressed Friday during the party’s airtime at national radio, underlining that it would bet on education through the promotion of totally free education up to university level, adapting it to the development conditions of the regions.
FNLA
The FNLA has said it intends to adopt a social policy based on the fight against unemployment, juvenile delinquency and social scourges, should it win the elections.
Speaking at national radio, the party showed itself in favour of social justice measures, to support the needy of mutilated, disabled and elderly people.
CASA-CE
The Broad Convergence for the Salvation of Angola - Electoral Coalition (CASA-CE) said it intends to implement a health system in Angola that puts the improvement of the quality of life of the people at its center, by means of disease prevention.
The intention was expressed Friday, by the leader of the coalition, Manuel Fernandes, who explained that the system would be based on an integrated vision, which necessarily requires the articulation of several ministerial sectors (Education, Finance, Energy and Water, Sports, Public Works and Basic Sanitation).
APN
The National Patriotic Alliance (APN) defended the generational alternation of political power, for believing that young people are the hope for a better Angola.
Noé Mateus, candidate for vice-president, who was speaking Friday during a mobilisation event at the Estalagem market in Luanda, pointed out that young people are not being directly involved in the country's transformation policies.
PRS
The Social Renewal Party (PRS) backed Friday in Luena, eastern Moxico province, equal payment for national and expatriate workers, should it win the general elections.
Speaking at a rally to open the electoral campaign, the party’s president Benedito Daniel said it was an "ideal" mechanism to value the national citizen, with equal skills or academic and professional training.
MPLA
The leader of MPLA João Lourenço arrived in the province of Bié on Friday to chair a mass rally on Saturday, after the Cuando Cubango province.
The MPLA leader announced that about 460,000 families benefited from the cash transfer programme "Kwenda", which aimed, above all, to help people suffering and with no basic means to live.
