Uíge – Thirty-one citizens from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) were repatriated, Wednesday, by the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME), in the Municipality of Maquela do Zombo, northern Uíge Province, for illegal entry and stay in the country.
The measure is part of the scope of preventing and combating illegal immigration and related crimes, explained to ANGOP, this Thursday, the head of the Department of the SME in Uíge, André Tecadiomona.
He explained that the citizens entered the country passing through the Kimbata border post, in Maquela Zombo.
The official said that, last year, 636 citizens of the DRC were repatriated, surpassing the 361 of the year 2021.
He said that the constant denunciations increased the number of illegal citizens repatriating from the country.
Regarding the issue of passports, he reported that 670 passports were issued in 2022, 666 of which were ordinary and four were service passports.
