Mbanza Kongo – At least 22 citizens from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), who were living illegally in the border municipality of Nóqui, Zaire province, were repatriated on Saturday by the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME).
In a statement sent to ANGOP Sunday, the police said the citizens had been sent back as a result of actions to control and inspect foreigners in an irregular migratory situation.
The repatriation took place at the municipality's border post with the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Nóqui municipality is 165 kilometres from the city of Mbanza Kongo, the capital of Zaire province. JL/MRA/AMP
