Dundo - The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) in eastern Lunda Norte province foiled early this week, a trafficking attempt of nine diamond stones of various carats that were in possession of an individual , the SIC spokesperson Alexandre Pereira has said.
The person, whose nationality has not been disclosed, was also in possession of 4,790 US dollars seized by the criminal investigation service, the spokesperson said, adding that the seizure of the diamonds was the result of a micro-operation carried out by various forces of the Interior Ministry.
These forces, the spokesperson said, aim to combat illegal immigration, diamond mining, trafficking of minors, fuel smuggling, among other crimes, and that the SIC also arrested 668 citizens from the Democratic Republic of Congo, who attempted to enter illegally in the country.JVL/HD/AMP
