Dundo - The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) in Lunda-Norte, thwarted in the early hours of Monday, the departure of 5,800 liters of diesel-type fuel, by smuggling, whose destination was the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The information was provided by the spokesman for the SIC in Lunda-Norte, Graciano Lumanhe, stressing that the seizure of the fuel results from an operation that also allowed the detection of a citizen, allegedly involved in crime.
He informed that the citizen was caught purchasing the product at a gas station, in the municipality of Cambulo, to later sell it along the border with the DRC.
He said that in the operative action, it was possible to seize 873 drums with a capacity of 25 liters each, of which 232 were empty.
He added that the alleged smuggler will be referred to the Public Prosecutor's Office with a view to promoting the case to the Guarantee Judge, while the seized fuel will be listed in the criminal case opened against the offender. HD/DOJ
