Dundo – Three Cannabis cultivation fields were destroyed today, in the Province of Lunda-Norte, by the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC).
The information was provided by the SIC spokesperson in that province, Graciano Lumanhe, highlighting that 9,215 plants of the drug were also set on fire.
The event marked the celebrations of the International Day to Combat Drug Use and Trafficking, celebrated on Wednesday, June 26th.
The SIC official informed that the owners of the fields have already been referred to the Prosecution Office for subsequent steps.
In turn, the Provincial Delegate for the Interior, Gerson Miguel, recommended, on the occasion, the strengthening of the fight against drug trafficking, mainly at the borders.
The World Day to combat drug use and trafficking was created by the UN General Assembly, through resolution no. 42/112 of December 7, 1987, and aims to raise awareness among the population about the problems caused by drugs.
