Dundo - The Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) seized 36 diamond stones of different carats in the municipality of Xá-muteba, Lunda-Norte province, for trafficking and illegal possession, during a micro-operation.
The information was provided on Sunday by the SIC spokesman in Lunda-Norte, Graciano Lumanhe, stressing that the diamonds were in the possession of a 37-year-old foreign citizen of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
He added that the arrest took place on the public road, when the alleged trafficker was returning from Malanje province, where he would have practiced diamond mining.
He made it known that the alleged trafficker will be presented to the Public Prosecutor's Office, for the formalization of the accusation.
The diamonds, he continued, will be delivered to ENDIAMA EP, as a faithful depositary.
He reported that in the same operation, in coordination with the National Police, 20,000 liters of gasoline-type fuel were seized, which was destined for the DRC for smuggling purposes, through the border of Txongola, municipality of Caungula.
Graciano Lumanhe informed that the petroleum product, stored in a cistern, was seized in a thicket, located in the Satxicapa neighborhood, regency of Txonguela.
He informed that the alleged smuggler, 41 years old, is detained and will be presented to the Public Prosecutor's Office, and the seized fuel will be listed in the criminal process against the individual. HD/DOJ
