Luanda - Angola and Serbia are working to deepen bilateral cooperation, especially in the economic field, the ambassador of this European country in Angola, Milos Perisic, said on Thursday.
Speaking at the celebration of Serbia's National Day, the diplomat said there are prospects of contacts at the highest level later this year to achieve this goal.
According to the diplomat, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić expects to receive Angolan Head of State João Lourenço later this year, adding that there are Serbian companies operating in various sectors in Angola, especially in construction and energy.
The ambassador emphasized that the relations between the two countries are good, as the number of visits of high government officials, businessmen and people-to-people exchanges has increased.
Angola and Serbia established political-diplomatic relations and technical-scientific and cultural cooperation on April 25, 1977.
Serbia is a rapidly developing modern country cooperating with Europe, Africa, Russian Federation, China, USA and other regions.
The Serbian economy is one of the fastest growing in Europe, with 3.8 percent growth last year and 4.2 percent growth forecast for this year.
It has also attracted a record 5.1 billion euros in foreign direct investment by 2024. AMC/ART/DAN/AMP
