Luanda - The Secretary of State for Human Rights, Ana Celeste Januário on Friday urged the citizens to be true promoters for the achievement of political, economic, social and cultural rights.
“Angola needs everyone or the greatest number of people to know the UN system, human rights and their meaning”, she concluded.
The Secretary of State spoke at the closing of the United Nations (UN) System Seminar on the achievement of economic, social and cultural rights, which began on Monday.
Ana Januário highlighted that, in any country in the world, there will be always a need to improve human rights, despite of the progress it already achieved.
The training coincides with the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which is commemorated under the motto “Advance with the promises of freedom, equality and justice for all”.
The training action aimed to update the knowledge and techniques of around 80 members of the Interministerial Commission for the Elaboration of National Reports on Human Rights (CIERNH).
The event was co-organized with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and had the participation of national and foreign speakers.
