Luanda - The Angolan capital, Luanda, will host another ministerial meeting between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda on 20th and 21st of this month, as part of the facilitation to re-establish Peace and Security between the countries.
According to a press release made public Thursday, the meeting will be preceded by an expert session.
The event is a result of recent trips done by Angola Head of State, João Lourenço, as mediator appointed by the AU, to Kigali and Kinshasa, on August 11th and 12th, respectively.
On the occasion, the Head of State delivered a Peace Agreement Proposal to Presidents Paul Kagame and Félix Tshisekedi.
In this context, next week's ministerial meeting in Luanda should essentially address the proposal for lasting peace submitted to the parties, aiming for a common understanding regarding a negotiated and peaceful solution to the conflict prevailing in the DRC's Eastern Region, which has worsened since late 2023.
