Luanda – Angolan government has assessed the implementation of the policy measures adopted in the light of the State's local administration reforms.
This was during the 8th edition of the Forum of Municipalities and Cities of Angola held Thursday in Luanda.
Addressing an opening session, the minister for Territorial Administration, Dionísio Manuel da Fonseca, said the forum will envisage the actions for the years to come.
He said that the event would strengthen the articulation between central and local State administration bodies for a more effective population.
"We intend to walk hand in hand towards the future, building local autonomy and solving the population's problems," he said.
The Forum of Municipalities and Cities of Angola is an auxiliary collegial body of the President of the Republic in matters related to local development.
It is tasked with creating a permanent space for dialogue and debates with the State's local administration bodies and to promote exchange between the country's municipalities and cities.
The meeting discussed, among various issues, the strengthening of Kwenda social protection, support for the promotion of job, the transfer of competencies to municipalities and the plan for the promotion of local administration cadres 2023.
Attended the event the governors of the country’s 18 provinces and the administrators from the 164 municipalities.
