Luanda – The Angolan Foreign Affairs Ministry has officially informed that the meeting between the Govt of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the March 23 Movement (M23), initially scheduled for Tuesday (18), in Luanda, has been postponed for reasons beyond its control.
The announcement was made official in a note from the Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX) delivered on Tuesday (18), confirming that “it was not possible” to hold the meeting in Luanda, “for reasons and circumstances beyond its control”.
According to a note that ANGOP had access to, the Angolan Govt, as mediator, will continue to make efforts to ensure that the aforementioned meeting takes place soon.
It also reaffirms dialogue as the only lasting solution for peace in the East of the DRC.
