Luanda - The president of the opposition political party Partido de Renovação Social (PRS), Benedito Daniel, Wednesday encouraged the Angolan government to strengthen the mechanisms of dialogue with civil society, in particular the youth to reduce social pressure and protests on the streets.
The politician, who was speaking at the party’s foundation 30th anniversary, said the current economic and social situation of the country requires a deep reflection from the authorities, and advised against any kind of repression against the unhappy people.
"Instead of repressing them it is better to receive them, listen to their concerns and propose possible solutions," the politician said, stressing that the challenges of civil society are due to factors such as increasing poverty, unemployment, lack of hospitals and schools.
Benedito Daniel repudiated, on the other hand, the death of demonstrator in Luanda, stressing that young people only go to the streets to demand solutions to their problems.
The PRS political party was founded on November 18, 1990.
