Malanje – A total of 276,488 hectares of arable land are being prepared by the Malanje Provincial Govt, for the 2024/25 agricultural season, with a view of promoting business agriculture and meeting the region's food needs.
The MPLA 1st provincial secretary, Marcos Nhunga, made the statement official, Saturday, Feb 08, when speaking on the sidelines of the launch of that Political party's Agenda for the year 2025, chaired by the party's vice-president, Mara Quiosa.
With this, the aim is to increase the level of mechanized production, with the involvement of 170 thousand families, at the provincial level, to reduce hunger.
The politician reiterated that the province has sufficient arable land and a rainy climate suitable for boosting business and family farming, capable of contributing to the fight against hunger.
He highlighted that the Integrated Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty, designed by the Govt, has the promotion of agriculture as a priority, combined with the distribution of water and primary health care, which is why everything is being done so that more families can dedicate themselves to rural activities.
Regarding the Political Agenda presented, he said that it is a guiding instrument and of capital importance for the party, taking into account the priorities of the country's political-party, economic and social plan that is proposed for this year, in favor of the Angolans well-being.
However, he assured that the party will continue to work for the population and is prepared for the challenges of the present and the future, towards electoral victory in 2027, as it is rooted within the population.
He mentioned that MPLA in Malanje is not backing down, and the level of organization and functioning of its base, social bodies and support structures demonstrate that it is prepared to win over the electorate once again. NC/PBC/CF/DOJ
