Dundo - The justice ombudswoman, Florbela Araújo, arrived this Monday in Lunda Norte province, where she will carry out a three-day working visit, with the aim of inaugurating the facilities of the provincial justice services.
The inauguration of the infrastructure aims to bring the services of the Ombudsman's office closer to the citizens and make them swifter.
During her stay in Lunda Norte, Florbela Araújo will find out, among other issues, about the levels of preventive detention in Cacanda prison, and will hear the views of justice operators.
The Ombudsman's agenda includes visits to the Cacanda prison, the justice delegation and the Provincial Court, as well as a lecture on "the role and function of the Ombudsman".
The Ombudsman is an independent institution with the objective of defending the rights, liberties and guarantees of citizens, ensuring, through informal means, the justice and legality of the public administration.
