Luena - The prosecution case against the former Angolan Vice-President of the Republic, Manuel Vicente, is in progress, said on Friday in the Province of Moxico, the Attorney General of the Republic, Helder Pitta Groz,
Speaking to the press in the city of Luena, where he is on a one-day working visit, he said that the process is ongoing and that, therefore, one should wait for the conclusion.
As for the case of businesswoman Isabel dos Santos, he said that the Attorney General's Office (PGR) is still waiting for the accusatory letters sent to the rights authorities in the United Arab Emirates, where the daughter of the late President Eduardo dos Santos is currently residing.
Speaking to the press at the end of the annual meeting to take stock of the activities carried out by the PGR in the eastern region of the country, which includes the provinces of Moxico, Lunda-Sul and Lunda-Norte, he said that the Attorney General's Office had made the accusation and had also sent a letter rogatory to Portugal, where other people named in the case are.
"While we wait for the formalities of the process, and then the exact answer, we will be able to present it in court in the country", he said.
Businesswoman Isabel dos Santos faces three criminal charges related to her management while she was chairwoman of the board of directors of National Fuel Company of Angola (Sonangol).
The first is a restraining order issued on 23 December 2019 by the Luanda Provincial Court, the second is related to Sonangol and the third is also a civil restraining order.
