Luanda - The President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, arrived in Luanda on Monday afternoon for a 48-hour working visit at the invitation of his Angolan counterpart, João Lourenço.
Upon arrival, the Equatorial Guinean statesman was received at the Presidential Complex of the "4 de Fevereiro" International Airport by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António.
Angola and Equatorial Guinea, two of Africa's leading oil producers and part of the Gulf of Guinea region, have maintained strong political, diplomatic and cultural relations for several years.
Cooperation between the two countries focuses on economic, energy and security issues, among others.
Both are members of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP).
The Angolan and Equatoguinean authorities have worked to diversify cooperation by adopting means that help identify common interests with mutual benefits. SC/AMP
