Luanda – The President of the United States of America (USA), Joe Biden, has announced his intention to appoint Abigail L. Dressel as the new US ambassador to Angola, according to a note from the White House.
The current US ambassador to Angola, Tulinabo S. Mushingi, will end his term in March 2025, but the process related to the confirmation of the US Senate before the official appointment of the new ambassador has already been initiated by the Presidency.
Abigail L. Dressel, who is expected to be the next ambassador to Angola and São Tomé and Príncipe, is a career diplomat, with the rank of minister counsellor, and is currently deputy chief of mission at the US Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the note reads.
