Luanda – Angolan Head of State João Lourenço returned to the country on Sunday coming from London, United Kingdom, after participating in the coronation ceremony of King Charles III and Queen Camila.
At the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, the Angolan President, accompanied by the First Lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, received welcome greetings by the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa and Government Officials.
During the four-day stay, his capacity as a guest of the Britain Government, João Lourenço, also attended an official reception hosted by the King.
With the coronation, the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth countries now formally have a new monarch.
The crowning ceremony took place at Westminster Abbey in London with the presence of hundreds of national and foreign guests.
King Charles III succeeded to the throne Queen Elisabeth, who died on September 8, 2022, at the age of 96.
