Luanda – Angolan head of State João Lourenço considered Thursday in Luanda the next general elections, scheduled for 24 August, 2022, a great challenge.
“There is no easy win and, therefore, all elections are a great challenge. Only those who work win, but not those who start working only in the last days”, João Lourenço told an interview with public and private media outlets.
Addressing several topics on the reality of the country, the Head of State said that he has been working every day since the time he took office and said he trust the commitment of his obligations.
“Good results in the test are obtained by those who study every day. But those who only study on the day of the test are doomed to fail”, reiterated the Head of State.
As for his morale to run for the next elections, João Lourenço said that the Constitution of the Republic allows him two terms in the office. He said in view of this principle he is available to continue serving his people.
Asked about the fulfillment of the programme presented during the 2017 general elections campaign, the Head of State said that many important projects were implemented, completed and put to the service of the population in the latest years and were not part of the electoral programme.
In addition to the pledges and programmes presented in 2017, the Head of State announced for soon the presentation of the positive balance related to the activities developed by the Government in the last five years.
