Luanda - Angolan Head of State João Lourenço arrived today (Thursday) in London (United Kingdom) to attend the coronation ceremony of the King Charles III.
João Lourenço, who is accompanied by the First Lady Ana Dias Lourenço, was received by representatives of the Angolan Embassy in the United Kingdom.
The coronation ceremony is scheduled to take place on Saturday (6th), at Westminster Abbey, in London.
The Angolan statesman will attend the event as a guest of the British Government.
With the coronation, the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth community will formally have a new monarch, in a ceremony that will be attended by several national and foreign entities.
The coronation of Charles III and his wife Camilla, as King and Queen Consort of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth kingdoms, will be the symbolic high point of their ascension.
This is the first coronation of a British monarch to take place in the 21st century and the 40th to be held at Westminster Abbey since 1066.
On the throne, King Charles III succeeds Queen Elizabeth II, who died at the age of 96, after reigning for 70 years.
