Luanda - French President Emmanuel Macron, on Wednesday, in Paris city, praised the partnership with Angola, within the framework of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
He mentioned the partnership between the two countries in a message read out at the opening ceremony of the First Global Meeting of the School Meals Coalition, which is being attended by an Angolan delegation led by the minister of Education, Luísa Grilo.
This partnership is being implemented in the education sector through the Agricultural and Rural Training Project (PAFAR), funded by the French Development Agency (AFD) with a sum of 35 million euros.
The PAFAR project aims to help reduce food insecurity and poverty in rural areas by developing agricultural production and the value chain and adopting environmentally friendly agricultural practices.
The cooperation focuses on the network of agricultural technical institutes across the country, with the aim of boosting agricultural training in the secondary and technical-vocational education subsystem.
The meeting, which ends on Thursday 19th, is attended by more than 90 countries and several partners, such as UN agencies, international organisations, NGOs and group of experts.
The event, which is being held under the sponsorship of the French Head of State and the World Food Programme (WFP), is running under the motto "Investing in future generations: Human Capital, Sustainable Food Systems and Action against Climate Change through School Feeding".
The aim is to promote the mobilisation and commitment of partners and to jointly define ambitious targets until 2030.
