Luanda – Brazilian Senate President Rodrigo Pacheco expressed satisfaction with the solidarity of the Angolan parliament after the Brazil rioters stormed seats of political, judicial and legislative power on January 8.
The act was described as an assault against democratic values and the stability of state institutions.
This is contained in a message of thanks sent to the National Assembly Speaker Carolina Cerqueira, to which ANGOP had access Tuesday.
Rodrigo Pacheco underlines, within the framework of bilateral relations between Angola and Brazil, the strengthening of the democracy is crucial for sovereignty in a modern world and a source of legitimacy and state power.
“I am happy to acknowledge receipt and thank the timely message of solidarity and condemnation of the regrettable episodes that occurred in Brasilia,” the message read.
