Luanda - Kenyan President William Samoei Ruto arrived on Tuesday night in the Angolan capital, Luanda, for a working visit aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation.
At the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, the Kenyan leader was received by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Esmeralda Mendonça.
Committed to strengthening bilateral relations, based on the General Agreement on Cooperation in the Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Fields, signed in Luanda on 15 January 2014, Angola and Kenya have developed several actions in recent times to this end.
In this context, the two countries express their interest in intensifying cooperation by exploiting the various potentialities available, with reciprocal advantages, namely in the Political-Diplomatic fields, Capacity Building of Civil Service Staff, Health and Agriculture and Forestry, among others.
It was also in this context that the President of the Republic of Angola, João Lourenço, made a state visit, considered 'historic', to the Republic of Kenya, from 19 to 21 October 2023, during which 11 Memorandums of Understanding were signed, in the most varied areas.
This visit was preceded by the first session of the Joint Bilateral Commission for Cooperation, from 16 to 18 October of the same year, in Nairobi (Kenya). SC/DOJ
