Luanda – Cuban head of State Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel Bermúdez left Angola Tuesday after a 72-hour state visit, aimed at boosting bilateral cooperation.
In Angola, Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel Bermúdez performed various activities, including the lying of wreath at the cemetery of Alto das Cruzes on the tomb of his compatriot Raúl Díaz Arguelles Garcia, who died in combat in Angola in December 1975.
Miguel Bermúdez also visited Angola and Cuba school in Luanda, during which he offered books and planted a tree.
The Cuban Statesman also addressed a formal session in National Assembly.
As part of his programme, the Cuban leader also paid tribute to António Agostinho Neto Memorial, the founder of the Angolan Nation.
Angola-Cuba’s cooperation relations cover various fields, with stress to Security, Education, Health, Transport, Public Works, Construction, Petroleum, Sports, Culture, Tourism and Agriculture.
The two States established diplomatic relations on November 15, 1975, four days after Angola's independence and, a year later, signed the General Cooperation Agreement, which created the Bilateral Commission.
Many Angolan citizens benefitted from the training in Cuba as part of cooperation between the two countries. SL/MDS/NIC
