Pretoria - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, witnesses at the Amphitheater of the Union Buildings, in Pretoria, the inauguration of his South African counterpart, Cyril Ramaphosa, who will serve a second five-year term.
The act, in which Ramaphosa has already taken the oath before the Supreme Court Chief Justice, Raimond Zondo, is also attended by the heads of State and Government of Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Eswatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles United Republic Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe and Congo Brazzaville.
The ceremony is also being marked by some demonstrations by the South African National Defense Forces, followed by the pledge of loyalty to the Republic and the Commander-in-Chief.
The ceremony included a 21-gun salute, a flight by the South African Air Force, a parade by a battalion of the National Defense Force and a marching session by the different branches of the South African Armed Forces.
