Luanda - President João Lourenço is already back in the country’s capital, Luanda, after having carried out a two-day work trip in the city of Saurimo, eastern Lunda Sul Province, which included the public presentation of the new ring road, as well as the holding of the Local Government Council meeting.
Upon his arrival, he was received by the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, and other government authorities.
In Lunda Sul, President João Lourenço chaired the meeting of the Local Government Council, during which the progress of the construction of infrastructures throughout the country was assessed.
The meeting was attended for the first time by the governors of the three new provinces, namely Icolo and Bengo, Moxico Leste and Cuando.
The Head of State, who was accompanied by the First Lady of the Republic, Ana Dias Lourenço, also noted the progress of the construction works of the Higher Polytechnic Institute of the Lueji A’Nkonde University in that region.
The Lueji A’Nkonde University Campus, with capacity for 2,350 students, is 95% complete.
