Luanda - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, travels on Tuesday to Cuito city , capital of central Bié province, to preside over the official opening ceremony of the 2021/2022 Academic Year.
According to a note from the Civil Affairs Office of the President of the Republic to which ANGOP has had access, the ceremony marks the start of classes in the Higher Education subsystem in Angola.
The ceremony will be attended by the ministers of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Maria do Rosário Bragança Sambo, and of Education, Luísa Grilo.
The ceremony is also to be attended by the minister of Youth and Sports, Ana Paula do Sacramento, and the provincial governors of Bié and Huambo, Pereira Alfredo and Lotti Nolika.
Still on Tuesday, President Lourenço is inaugurating the International University of Cuanza as a result of a joint project between Spanish Cooperation and the Euro-African University Foundation.
According to the Programme, the President of the Republic is expected to return to Luanda on Tuesday afternoon.
