Luanda - Parliament Speaker Carolina Cerqueira Thursday appealed to the Angolan Executive to boost the national economy by creating wealth opportunities for companies and families, paying particular attention to the most vulnerable populations.
The Speaker made the appeal during the opening session of the 9th Ordinary Plenary Meeting of the 1st Legislative Session of the V Legislature.
In her address, Carolina Cerqueira reiterated the support of the 220 MPs for assessing, improving and approving the economic measures required in this current national scenario, in order to improve the living standards of all the Angolans.
Addressing the minister of State for Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano, who heads the economic team, taking into account the current context and for the good of the nation and the Angolan homeland, the Parliamentary leader asked him to contribute to the solution to the huge challenges of the current national context.
José de Lima Massano was appointed Minister of State for Economic Coordination on 8 June.
Prior to his appointment, José de Lima Massano was dismissed, at his request, from the position of Governor of the National Bank of Angola, to which he had been appointed on December 7, 2022. VM/DAN/NIC
