Luanda - The National Assembly Speaker, Carolina Cerqueira, highlighted on Monday, in Ankara, the importance of the strengthening of parliamentary cooperation between Angola and Turkey in the most different areas, mainly on training and exchange of experience, aiming to deepen friendship ties.
Speaking at a courtesy meeting with the Angolan ambassador to Turkey, José Patrício, as part of a four-day working visit to this Euro-Asian country, Carolina Cerqueira stressed that, as it is a regional and international power, as well as having a robust and dynamics, it is necessary to take advantage of Türkiye’s strengths.
She highlighted the strong dynamics of Türkiye's geostrategic policy, experience in dealing with migration issues and role as an observer member of the CPLP and NATO.
Carolina Cerqueira said that the Turkish cultural heritage, “is an opportunity that must be taken advantage of to bring the two peoples together, taking advantage of what both countries offer in the most varied aspects”.
He added that the reality of Türkiye should serve as an example so that Angola can reaffirm itself in Africa.
Parliamentary Diplomacy
Carolina Cerqueira also highlighted the fact that the Angolan Parliament is contributing to actions linked to the promotion of peace, harmony, stability, security, as well as the defense of the rights of vulnerable people.
For his part, the Angolan diplomat in Turkey reinforced the need for Angolans to take advantage of opportunities in the fields of culture and knowledge to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the countries.
Regarding the visit of the parliamentary delegation, José Patrício said that, with this, a new cycle of parliamentary cooperation was opened.
On the other hand, he made it known that the Angolan community in this country has 1,200 members, 50 of which are students.
Parliamentary Broadcast
Carolina Cerqueira, reaffirmed that the process of implementing the parliamentarian's Radio and TV is complete, and that, at this point, the necessary technical procedures for the broadcasting of radio and television signals are being carried out.
According to the leader of the Angolan parliament, the parliamentary Radio and Television channel will serve to provide the public with information about the actions of deputies designed to contribute to improving the conditions of Angolans.
