Abuja - Nigeria’s president Muhammadu Buhari praised Thursday Angola's dedication to securing peace in Central Africa and the Great Lakes, described as key condition for the prosperity of its peoples.
President Muhammadu Buhari said so during an audience he granted to the Angolan ambassador to Nigeria, Eustáquio Januário Quibato, who was at the end of his eight-year term in this western African country.
Buhari said that Nigeria greatly appreciates the effort made by Angola and its Statesman to promoting the peace in Africa.
During an audience held in Aso Rock, the Nigerian statesman described the work carried out by the Angolan diplomat as being of excellence in favour of political and diplomatic concert and aimed at encouraging trade.
During the audience, also attended by the Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, the ambassador took stock of his mission in Nigeria.
He mainly focus on bilateral and multilateral framework and praised the work done by the Statesman in economic recovery and the fight against terrorism.
President Muhammadu Buhari distinguished the Angolan ambassador with a special coat of arms bearing his signature, in recognition of the excellence of his work and bilateral relations.
The Angolan diplomat has already said goodbye to the Presidents of Niger and Benin, Mohamed Bazoum and Patrice Talon respectively. OHA/ADR
