Luanda – Angolan President, João Lourenço was invited Tuesday by his Greek counterpart, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, to visit that European country.
After an audience with the Angolan statesman, the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikolaos Dendias, told the press that "President João Lourenço accepted the invitation".
Nikolaos Dendias, who is on a 72-hour working visit to Angola, made the invitation verbally, but, he added, in the coming days, his government will send a diplomatic note to formalize it.
The diplomat also said that in his meeting with João Lourenço, he expressed his Government's willingness to cooperate with Angola, in the sectors of commerce, tourism, agriculture, industry and technologies and innovation.
Nikolaos Dendias, who has been in Luanda since last Monday, met this Tuesday with the minister of Foreign Affairs of Angola, Teté António, and with the minister of Health, Sílvia Lutucuta.
Angola currently presides over the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP), of which Greece is an observer member, a decision taken from the organization's summit, held in Luanda, in July 2021.
