Luanda – President João Lourenço on Tuesday in Luanda called for Portugal's technical and vocational training support for young people of this Portuguese Speaking Southern African nation.
“It is essential that Angola has a large number of well-prepared young cadres to respond to the great demand in this area, felt internally in the country's public and private institutions,” Lourenço said.
João Lourenço said the steps taken in cooperation with Portugal have the clear objective of benefiting both peoples, having recognized that the balance is positive, although there is still the possibility of much to be done.
According to the Angolan president, relations between the two countries also involve affective and fraternal relations, so it is imperative on a bilateral level to open channels that enable and promote greater exchange between the two peoples and nations.
On Tuesday, Angola and Portugal signed eight legal cooperation instruments that form the basis for developing new initiatives and actions to expand exchanges with tangible results between the two countries.
João Lourenço guaranteed that the new meeting with Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro in just over three months is a sign of dynamism and great vigor and mutual interest.
The Angolan president called for the need to boost cooperation in sectors that have not reached the desired speed or acceptable level of implementation in order to achieve a more satisfactory balance of cooperation.
Lourenço said the strategic cooperation program 2023-2027 signed last year in Luanda, which covers sensitive areas such as education, health, justice, security and agriculture, has been working adequately.
