Luanda - President João Lourenço sent, this Tuesday, a message to his Egyptian counterpart, Abdul Fatah Al-Sisi, congratulating that country’s Government and people on celebrating another anniversary of Independence.
In the message, the Angolan Statesman expresses his satisfaction at seeing on this date notable advances registered in several areas in Egypt.
It also highlights the positive impact that these achievements have had on the visible improvement of the socio-economic conditions of the Egyptian population.
Angola-Egypt Cooperation
Angola and Egypt formalized on March 26, 1987, in Luanda, a General Agreement on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.
There is great interest on the part of both countries in increasing cooperation in areas such as Economy, Commerce and Industry, Education, Higher Education and Technical-Vocational Training, Energy and Water, Banking and Finance, Agriculture and Fisheries.
Angola and Egypt are also engaged in preparing the first session of the Bilateral Commission, which is expected to evaluate cooperation and establish the process of implementing the legal instruments in force.
Egyptian companies were the first to provide “important support” to the Angolan Executive Program to combat Covid-19, having provided biosafety equipment, hospital consumables and a value of 200 million kwanzas.
Egypt is located in the northern region of the African continent, bordered by Sudan to the South, Libya to the West, the Mediterranean Sea to the North and the Red Sea to the East.
It has a population of 100.9 million inhabitants and a territorial extension of 1,001,450 square kilometers.
