Luanda – Angolan president João Lourenço meets Thursday in Luanda, with the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken as part of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
No information was given to the press about the almost hour-long conversation with the US official, who arrived in Luanda on Wednesday evening on his tour to the African continent that took him to Cape Verde, Nigeria and Cote d'Ivoire.
The meeting with the head of American diplomacy comes after the Angolan Head of State met with his American counterpart, Joe Biden, at the White House in Washington last year in November.
The two countries established a sustainable partnership in key sectors such as agriculture, trade, telecommunications, renewable energies, oil refining, space exploration, defense and security.
The US has pledged to invest USD 250 million in the Lobito Corridor coastal Benguela province to help accomplish these projects of mass movement of goods between Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia.
The US top diplomat also promised to invest in the renewable energy sector, with a package worth 900 million us dollars. JFS/VC/DAN/AMP
