Luanda - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, is holding a private meeting with his counterpart from Madagascar, Andry Rajoelina, as part of his official visit to Angola to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Upon his arrival at the Presidential Palace, in the Upper City, Andry Rajoelina was received with military honors.
After the tête-à-tête between the two statesmen, there will be official talks between the two ministerial delegations, in the Council of Ministers Room, where the presidents will speak.
The programme continues with the signing of a number of legal instruments in the Treaty Chamber in the framework of strengthening cooperation relations.
After these moments, João Lourenço and Andry Rajoelina are expected to make statements to journalists from both countries, in the 'Water Mirror' space, adjacent to the gardens of the Presidential Palace, when the result of the meeting will be discussed.
The program of the visit states that the Angolan statesman will offer, later today, to his Malagasy counterpart an official lunch, during which brief words of circumstance from the two Presidents are planned.
Before going to the Presidential Palace, the Malagasy statesman went to Praça da República, where, after the guided tour, he signed the Book of Honor, in honor of the first President of Angola, Agostinho Neto. ART/DOJ
