Luanda - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, is meeting on Sunday with the government of the province of Namibe to learn about its socio-economic situation and the progress of programs aimed at improving the well-being of the population.
The meeting is part of the agenda of the visit that the Head of State has been making since Friday to Namibe.
The governor of Namibe, Archer Mangueira, presented a detailed report on the socio-economic reality of the province, in which he highlighted the program to combat drought, and highlighted the implementation of 39 projects to bring water to the affected populations.
He spoke of the growth of the health sector, which gained 19 health units and 225 new professionals from 2021 to 2023, as part of the implementation of the Integrated Municipal Intervention Program (PIIM), which has already seen 99 projects executed out of the 106 included in the portfolio.
In relation to the challenges, he presented the need for the execution of structuring projects to combat drought, expand the health network, improve higher education, among others. ART/DOJ
